Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as Beer Biceps, has issued a public apology after facing backlash for making offensive jokes on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. The controversy erupted when Ranveer’s remarks, deemed obscene and disrespectful, sparked outrage among viewers. On Monday, he took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video addressing the issue, admitting his mistake and expressing regret.
In the video, Ranveer acknowledged that his comments were not only inappropriate but also unfunny. He emphasized that comedy is not his strength and vowed to use his platform more responsibly in the future. “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I’m just here to say sorry,” he said. He further added, “Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform, and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I’m not going to give any context, justification, or reasoning behind what happened.”
Ranveer admitted to a lapse in judgment and recognized the responsibility that comes with his platform, especially since his content is viewed by people of all ages. “I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part. The podcast is watched by people of all ages. I don’t want to be the kind of person who takes that responsibility lightly, and family is the last thing I would ever disrespect,” he stated.
He also revealed that he has requested the show’s producers to remove the insensitive portions of the episode. “I’ve asked the makers of the video to remove the insensitive sections, and all I can say in the end is I’m sorry. I hope you can forgive me as a human being,” he concluded.

The incident has sparked widespread criticism, with many viewers calling for a boycott of Ranveer Allahbadia. His controversial remarks, which included a derogatory question posed to a contestant, have ignited a broader debate about content regulation, particularly on OTT platforms. The question, which many found offensive, was: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life—or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
Following the backlash, a complaint has been filed against Ranveer, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija (The Rebel Kid), and the producers of India’s Got Latent for allegedly using abusive language on the show, as reported by news agency ANI. The controversy has also drawn reactions from several celebrities and politicians, who have demanded accountability and action.
The episode featured Ranveer alongside fellow judges Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. While the show aims to showcase talent, this incident has overshadowed its purpose, raising questions about the boundaries of humor and the responsibility of content creators. Ranveer’s apology marks a step toward addressing the issue, but the debate over content regulation and accountability continues to gain momentum.
