Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate SEMICON India 2024 today at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The event is expected to showcase India’s ambitious semiconductor strategy, a crucial component of the country’s push to become a global leader in tech manufacturing and innovation. The three-day event will begin at 10:30 AM, with Modi delivering a keynote address outlining the future of India’s semiconductor industry.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the inauguration, signaling the importance of Uttar Pradesh in India’s technological advancement. SEMICON India 2024, themed “Shaping the Semiconductor Future,” will run from September 11 to 13, attracting over 250 exhibitors and 150 speakers from across the globe. The event’s goal is to highlight India’s policies and initiatives that aim to position the country as a key player in the global semiconductor market.

Ahead of the event, PM Modi chaired a roundtable meeting with top semiconductor executives in New Delhi, emphasizing the role semiconductors will play in shaping the future of not just businesses but the country itself. As the world becomes increasingly dependent on digital technology, Modi stressed that the semiconductor industry will soon form the foundation of everyday necessities. The roundtable was held at his official residence on Tuesday, adding weight to the government’s semiconductor agenda.

SEMICON India 2024 is set to offer a platform for meaningful discussions and collaborations, reinforcing India’s strategic vision for becoming a major hub for semiconductor innovation.
