Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday conducted a review of the ongoing preparations for the Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, issuing crucial guidelines to ensure the safety, convenience, and smooth conduct of the mega religious event. The CM specifically emphasized the need for meticulous planning for the upcoming Magh Purnima Snan, a significant bathing ritual scheduled for February 12, which is expected to draw millions of devotees.
Key Instructions by CM Yogi Adityanath
1. Enhanced Traffic Management
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of efficient traffic management to prevent long queues of vehicles on the roads. He directed officials to utilize the parking spaces built on the outskirts of Prayagraj effectively and ensure that unauthorized vehicles do not enter the fair premises. To facilitate the movement of devotees, Yogi Adityanath ordered an increase in the number of shuttle buses, enabling pilgrims to travel seamlessly from parking areas to the fairgrounds. He also emphasized the need for special care for children, the elderly, and women during the event.
2. Coordination for Crowd Control
Yogi Adityanath highlighted the need for proper coordination of traffic movement in Prayagraj and its adjoining districts. He instructed officials to install barricades to manage crowd pressure in the fair area effectively. Additionally, he called for close coordination with the railway administration to ensure uninterrupted train operations, allowing devotees to travel safely and comfortably.
3. Focus on Cleanliness
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness throughout the Mahakumbh area, including the Sangam (confluence of rivers). He directed officials to ensure continuous cleanliness drives to provide devotees with a hygienic and pleasant environment. Yogi Adityanath also emphasized the need for increased police patrolling in the fair area to maintain law and order.
4. Availability of Essential Services
To address emergencies, the CM instructed officials to ensure the availability of essential services such as cranes and ambulances. He also stressed the importance of adequate medical facilities and quick response teams to handle any unforeseen situations during the event.
