In Jammu & Kashmir, police and security forces are conducting area domination operations, marching through the region to assert their presence and thwart terror plans.
Jammu Kashmir News: Security agencies are on high alert across the country ahead of Republic Day. Amid the boosted security measures, a large cache of arms and ammunition was seized during a search operation in Kashmir. The Jammu & Kashmir Police said that a joint team of the Army's 42 Rashtriya Rifles unit, CRPF, and Awantipora Police conducted a joint operation in Laramooh, Awantipora, Pulwama.
During this operation, security forces recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition, including one grenade, one grenade launcher, one electric detonator, 10 rounds of 7.62 mm bullets, and one pistol magazine.
The Inspector General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, said multi-layered security arrangements will be made for the Republic Day celebrations in Kashmir. The main event of the Republic Day celebrations will be held in Jammu. The event will be presided over by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be the chief guest.
Security Boosted For Republic Day
The Inspector General of Police Vidhi Kumar Birdi said, “Multi-layered security arrangements will be made so that people can enjoy the parade and celebrations. The main event in the Kashmir Valley will be held at Bakshi Stadium. The ceremony will be presided over by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Chaudhary.” Security forces are checking vehicles and searching people to curb the activities of anti-social elements. This time, the administration has decided to install LED screens at the Republic Day event venue.

Area Domination Operations Continue
Police and other security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir are conducting area domination exercises. Under this, police and security force personnel march to register their presence in the area. Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in the city and other district headquarters ahead of Republic Day, while checkpoints have been set up at various places in Srinagar.
