Early investigative reports indicate that the container truck driver may not bear fault in this tragedy. The impact occurred as the Innova hit the truck’s rear left side, a common blind spot in large vehicles, suggesting the speeding Innova struck an unavoidable obstacle. Given that the car’s young driver perished in the incident, police are seeking legal counsel to clarify if liability can be assigned in cases where the responsible individual is deceased. Inspector KC Bhatt of Cantt Police Station stated they cannot proceed without a formal complaint from the bereaved families.

CCTV footage reviewed by police showed the car proceeding at a normal speed through various checkpoints—Rajpur Road, Saharanpur Chowk, Balliwala, and Ballupur. However, the car accelerated unexpectedly as it neared ONGC Chowk, leading to the tragic collision.
