Block Your Debit and Credit Card: If you’re a cardholder, this guide is essential for you. Today, we’ll walk you through the steps to block your card if it’s ever misplaced. You can block your card using both online and offline methods. Read on for the full details…

As the number of debit and credit card users rises, so does the risk of losing them. If your card is lost or stolen, it’s crucial to block it immediately to prevent unauthorized use.

This article will guide you on how to block your debit or credit card.

How to Block Your Card Online?

  1. Head over to your bank’s online banking portal or mobile app.
  2. Navigate to the debit/credit card details section.
  3. Select the block option and state your reason for blocking.
  4. Confirm your decision by submitting the reason; the bank will prompt a reconfirmation.
  5. Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number for final verification.
  6. Once verified, you’ll receive an SMS confirming that your card has been successfully blocked.

How to Block Your Card Offline?

To block your card offline, visit your bank’s branch. A bank officer will assist you in completing the card blocking process.

How to Block Your Card via SMS?

You can also block your card by sending an SMS. Simply send a message in the format provided by your bank to the designated number. You’ll receive a confirmation message once the card is blocked.

Block Your Card Through a Toll-Free Number

Blocking your card is just as easy by phone. Call your bank’s toll-free number and speak directly with a customer service representative to request a card block.
