The Aadhaar card serves as proof of identity for Indian citizens. Nowadays, it’s needed for almost every task. Most people keep their Aadhaar card in their pocket. If this card gets lost, it’s natural to feel anxious. However, there’s good news: even if your Aadhaar card is lost, you can retrieve it. According to UIDAI, if you provide your full name, the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, or your email information, you can retrieve your Aadhaar number. UIDAI uses mobile OTP-based authentication to send an OTP to your registered mobile number. Entering this OTP will allow you to retrieve your Aadhaar number. This service is provided free of charge by UIDAI, meaning there are no fees for getting your Aadhaar card again.

  3. Click on the “Send OTP” button for the next steps.
  4. You will see your Aadhaar information on the next page.

For smartphone users, the mAadhaar app is another option. The app provides a “Retrieve EID/UID” option.
